Huddersfield Town vs Liverpool 21/10/18

21 October 2018

Arguably one of the weakest Premier League sides at the moment are going to face-off against one of the leaders this weekend, with Huddersfield Town looking to take on Liverpool at the Kirklees Stadium.

The Terriers are one of three teams to fail to clinch a victory after the opening eight league fixtures, as they currently reside in a relegation zone, with just 3 points, and a record of three draws and five defeats and a -13 goal difference. Along with Crystal Palace, Huddersfield are the only side that is yet to score a goal in front of the home supporters, having suffered three defeats and played out one draw in the first four home matches. Moreover, a scoreless draw with Cardiff City was the only time David Wagner’s side managed to keep a clean sheet, which places them amongst the worst defensive teams in the Premier League.

The Reds, on the other hand, have opened the new Premier League campaign off on the right foot, grabbing six consecutive wins, including the one against Tottenham on the road. However, the Merseysiders have failed to snatch a triumph in four successive matches in all competitions, with Jurgen Klopp hoping to see his team getting out of a crisis after the international break. Although they’ve conceded just three goals in the league so far, the 5-time Champions League winners have kept a clean sheet just once in the previous four away games.

Terence Kongolo, Aaron Mooy, Ramadan Sobhy, Collin Quaner, Danny Williams, and Juninho Bacuna are all struggling with injuries in the home squad and probably won’t be ready for the encounter. As for the visitors, Divock Origi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana, and James Milner will have to remain on the stands, while the appearance of Naby Keita, Sadio Mane, Virgil Van Dijk, and Mo Salah still hangs in the balance.
