Desperate to bring a six-game winless run against Mexico to a halt (D1, L5), Haiti will look to fancy their chances against the most successful national team in the CONCACAF region when the two nations face-off at the State Farm Stadium in the Gold Cup semi-finals.

Interestingly, three of Haiti’s four wins at the tournament have seen them performing a second-half comeback, with two of those matches ending with the same 2-1 scoreline. For Haiti, most of the action takes part in the second half, as Marc Collat’s men scored seven of their nine goals at the Gold Cup after the halftime whistle. Les Grenadiers have hit a free-scoring form at the right time, having netted 2+ match goals in all five of their previous games (W5). But, a huge problem for Haiti here could be their inability to keep a clean sheet that has seen them concede at least one goal in eight of their last nine games, allowing over 1.5 match goals twice though.

Meanwhile, the Mexicans have been ruthless in the group stage, finishing top of Group A (W3) scoring three or more goals across all three of their outings before the knockout phase. But, El Tri scraped into the semi-finals with a thrilling penalty shoot-out victory over Costa Rica after the match ended in a 1-1 draw. It was the first time since Gerardo Martino took charge of the national team that Mexico struggled to score over 2.5 match goals. At the same time, it was the seventh of eight games with Martino in charge that his players have failed to keep a blank sheet.
