Germany vs Peru 10/09/18

10 September 2018

After playing out a 0-0 draw with France in the opening match of the UEFA Nations League Group A/1, Germany will take on Peru in a friendly game that shall take place at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar Arena in Sinsheim.

Joachim Löw has expected to see a proper reaction from his players following the World Cup fiasco that saw at the time title holders heading home already after the group stage and considering their overall performance against the world champions, it seems that he has plenty of reason to be happy despite Die Mannschaft failed to clinch a victory. However, there would be no excuses for a potential failure against Peru, as the home supporters impatiently anticipate to see their sideget back to winning ways.

As for the visitors, La Blanquirroja’s World Cup journey also ended after the group stage, with the South Americans suffered two losses, to France and Denmark, while defeating Australia in the process. Los Incas head coach Ricardo Gareca is struggling to find a way to take his team back on the right track, as Peru lost a friendly encounter with the Netherlands a few days ago by two goals to one despite having a one-goal lead 30 minutes before the final whistle.

Leroy Sane, who returned to the national team in September, might get a chance to start from the first minute, as well as, Julian Draxler and Julian Brandt, who have spent the whole match against France on the bench. On the other hand, Jefferson Farfan, Christian Cueva, and Andre Carrillo should spearhead the visitors’ attack, with Seattle Sounders forward Raul Ruidiaz supposed to start from the bench again.
