Germany take on Belarus in the 2020 UEFA European Championship Qualifying (ECQ) at the Borussia-Park. It is be a ‘must-win’ affair for the home side for automatic progression to Euro 2020.

Huge odds-on favorites to secure another landslide victory, the hosts will be looking to move one step closer towards the Euro qualification. With a record of five wins and a loss, Die Mannschaft sit second in the standings, level on points with the Netherlands and three above third-placed Northern Ireland. A 3-2 away triumph over the Netherlands aside, all four of their remaining ECQ wins have seen Germany keep a clean sheet and score over 1.5 match goals. Joachim Low’s men have opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes in both of their previous ECQ home matches and added at least one more in the final 20 minutes. Germany’s win in the reverse fixture in Belarus has also seen them break the deadlock fast (in the 13th minute) and kill the game off midway through the second half (in the 62nd minute).

Meanwhile, the visitors have grabbed all four of their ECQ points in the last three matches (W1, D1, L1), with both of their results (win/loss) in that sequence coming via the identical 2-1 scoreline. Lapses of concentration in the final stages have seen Belarus concede beyond the 85th minute in two of their three ECQ away matches. Curiously though, three of four ECQ goals the White Wings have bagged so far have come away from home, with two of them arriving before the hour mark. Just two of Belarus’ last seven competitive away games have seen both teams score, while four of them featured under 2.5 goals.
