Manchester City take a must-win trip to Craven Cottage as they meet mid-table Fulham on the final 2024/25 Premier League weekend.

Brighton’s win over Liverpool earlier this week ended Fulham’s hopes of securing a long-awaited European qualification ahead of the final weekend. That’s a pity, considering the Cottagers have set a new club record for Premier League points tally for a single season after toppling Brentford 3-2 last weekend. Signing off in style is, therefore, Fulham’s only objective here. They can win back-to-back league games for the first time since mid-February, yet the task is nothing short of Herculean. Indeed, Marco Silva’s men have lost their last 17 meetings with Man City in all competitions, conceding an alarming 52 goals in that dreadful sequence! Silva himself has lost all 14 matches against Pep Guardiola-managed clubs, meaning Fulham will unlikely post their first Premier League win over the Citizens since April 2009.

Now is not the time for Manchester City to break this tradition, as they must take at least one point in West London to secure Champions League qualification for a 15th consecutive season. Guardiola’s charges bounced back from a gut-wrenching FA Cup defeat to Crystal Palace with a 3-1 home win against Bournemouth in midweek Premier League action to extend their unbeaten league run to nine games (W6, D3). The dethroned champions should be confident of making it ten in a row after winning their final Premier League game in nine of the last 11 seasons (D1, L1). However, they cannot take anything for granted, as they’ve only won once in their four most recent away league outings (D2, L1).
