Everton vs Bournemouth 13/01/19

13 January 2019

Everton and Bournemouth face-off at the Goodison Park, with both sides trying to overcome a tumultuous period.

Although the Toffees won their last competitive encounter, they’ve secured just one triumph in the past eight Premier League clashes (W1, D2, L5), losing four of the previous five league fixtures. What’s more, Marco Silva’s men have struggled to wrap up all three points in the last four PL home races (D2, L2). Their defensive frailties have seen them concede in nine consecutive competitive meetings, allowing over 1.5 goals per match three times though. Also, the Merseysiders have failed to hit the back of the net in their last two outings, having scored under 1.5 goals per game seven times in the past ten Premier League meetings.

Meanwhile, the visitors are going through a nightmarish period that has seen them lose ten of their last 13 competitive outings. Furthermore, the Cherries have lost five successive PL road clashes, conceding over 1.5 goals per match in each. In that period, the Cherries have conceded 16 goals while scoring just three in the process. Only Fulham (28) allowed more goals on the road than Bournemouth (23) this campaign, with Eddie Howe’s players failing to keep a clean sheet on eight of ten road league trips so far. What’s more, Bournemouth have lost all of their last three visits to Goodison Park, with each clash ending with three or more goals and both teams scoring.
