Dynamo Dresden vs Paris Saint-Germain 17/07/19
17 July 2019
Deprived of Neymar’s services, Thomas Tuchel and Paris Saint-Germain travel to the Glücksgas Stadium to take on Dynamo Dresden at the beginning of their preparations for the forthcoming season.
The German side endured a torrid 2018-2019 campaign, having finished 12th in the Bundesliga 2. with a record of 11 wins, nine draws, and 14 defeats. SGD’s pre-season has so far been turbulent, with Dresden picking up just one triumph in four friendlies this summer (W1, D1, L2). All of those matches have, however, seen both teams score while three of them have featured over 2.5 goals. Such efficiency has coincided with Dynamo Dresden’s furious end of last season that has seen five of their last six league games produce over 2.5 goals, although three have witnessed goals at both ends.
Meanwhile, the Parisians stormed through the Ligue 1 last term, wrapping up their second successive league title, 16 points ahead of the second-placed Lille and with a stunning +70 goal difference (S105, C35). It will be PSG’s first match in their pre-season, with Thomas Tuchel looking to shape up their players after a tumultuous end of the previous campaign. The French heavyweights have pulled off just three wins in the final ten games of last season (W3, D3, L4), with nine of those matches featuring over 2.5 goals while nine seeing both teams score too.
