Dortmund vs Hamburger SV 10/02/18

10 February 2018

Another disappointing campaign for Hamburger SV despite a promising start, as the Red Shorts are nailed to the bottom of the table along with Koln. Without a single victory in their last eight Bundesliga games, Hamburger are set to face Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park, praying for a positive outcome to increase their hopes of avoiding relegation.
The Black and Yellows are experiencing a turbulent season, with many ups and downs. Despite sacking Peter Bosz, new head coach Peter Stoger is struggling to amend Dortmund’s faltering campaign.

An encouraging display from Michy Batshuayi at his debut against Koln boosted BVB fans’ enthusiasm after the loss of club’s superstar, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Missing out on Champions League would be a major blow for the German heavyweights, as they might be forced to sell some of their star players next summer.

Additionally, the home side still has significant troubles with injured players, as Andriy Yarmolenko, Marco Reus, Maximilian Philipp, Erik Durm, and Marcel Schmelzer are all currently inactive.

On the other hand, Bernd Hollerbach can’t count on Gideon Jung and Nicolai Muller, both sidelined for a long time, while Kyriakos Papadopoulos won’t be able to play after picking up a red card against Hannover last weekend.
