Denmark vs Panama 23/03/18
23 March 2018
Denmark and Panama will play a friendly match in Brondby as part of their preparation ahead of the upcoming World Cup, as both countries secured their tickets to Russia. Denmark has finished second in their respective group behind Poland, but they eventually managed to qualify for the most prestigious international championship after beating The Republic of Ireland 5-1 in Dublin in the playoff thanks to Nicklas Bendtner and Christian Eriksen who scored a hat-trick.
As for Panama, they’ve made history with qualifying for the World Cup for the first time after a dramatic finish in their qualification group. However, considering they are going to face Belgium and England in the group phase, they seem to don’t stand a chance of reaching the knockout stage. Los Canaleros have finished third ahead of the USA which is a remarkable success for such a small country although they had a negative goal difference no one can deny their stunning achievement.
It will be the second time in history these two sides will meet each other. The only encounter they’ve had ended in a 2-2 draw, and it was back in 2005.
Andreas Bjelland, Kasper Dolberg, and Jannik Vestergaard won’t be at Nicolai Jorgensen’s disposal, while Hernan Dario Gomez has his entire squad fully prepared for the game.
