Colombia vs Panama 04/06/19
4 June 2019
Colombia come face-to-face with Panama for an international friendly match at the Estadio El Campín in Bogota.
The two nations have last faced-off 12 years ago with the South Americans securing a commanding 4-0 triumph.
It will be Los Cafeteros’ first warm-up game ahead of the upcoming Copa America. Colombia’s three-game winning run has been brought to a halt as South Korea picked up a 2-1 victory back in March. Carlos Queiroz’s men have enjoyed a decent post-World Cup period, clinching four wins in five friendlies before the aforementioned loss to South Korea (W4, D1). Interestingly, three of their last four games have seen both teams score and produced over 2.5 goals.
Meanwhile, the visitors have failed to find the right balance following a dreadful World Cup appearance. Los Canaleros have finished bottom in their respective group in Russia with a record of three defeats and a disastrous -9 goal difference. Julio Dely Valdés has struggled to help the national team to rise in the following period, with Panama suffering five defeats in seven outings after the World Cup (D2, L5). Frustratingly for them, La Marea Roja have failed to score in four of those games while conceding over 1.5 match goals five times in the process.
