Chile vs Haiti 07/06/19

7 June 2019

Chile’s preparations for the 2019 Copa America start at the Estadio La Portada in La Serena as they welcome Haiti for an international friendly match.

The hosts look to boost their confidence ahead of the most notable South American competition, hoping to post their first triumph in 2019 after failing to pick up a win in both of their previous outings this year (D1, L1). Also, La Roja have not enjoyed the best of times at home recently, clinching two wins in their last five home games (W2, L3), with four of those matches featuring over 2.5 goals. Interestingly, Chile’s recent outings have not been short of entertainment, as all four of their previous games have seen both teams score, with three of those matches producing over 3.5 goals.

Meanwhile, the visitors experienced partial success in 2019, pulling off a victory and sustaining a loss in their two games since the turn of the year. Four of Haiti’s last five matches have been settled by a narrow one-goal margin, with Les Grenadiers securing two 2-1 wins while suffering two 1-0 defeats. The prospect of facing a South American nation may trouble Marc Collat considering Le Rouge et Bleu have sustained losses in all five of their previous H2Hs with the CONMEBOL-based teams by a disastrous -17 goal difference (S2, C19).
