Brescia vs Internazionale 30/10/19

30 October 2019

Rocked by a 2-2 home draw with Parma at the weekend, Internazionale will be looking to return to winning ways in Serie A (SA) when they take on the newly-promoted Brescia side at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti.

Winless in their last four SA fixtures (D1, L3), the hosts will try to snap a frustrating streak and potentially post their first win over Inter after four consecutive unsuccessful attempts (D2, L2). However, judging on their home displays since returning to the top-flight, it will be a daunting prospect for Brescia to kick-start their SA home campaign. In addition to Lecce, ‘Le Rondinelle’ are the only side in Italy’s top-tier competition that are yet to pick up a home triumph this term (D1, L2). Interestingly, both of those defeats have seen Eugenio Corini’s men open the scoring inside the first ten minutes and go into halftime without a deficit. But, dismal second-half performances across their opening three SA home matches have witnessed Brescia concede four goals after the break and draw a blank each time.

Meanwhile, the visitors remain the only team in SA to win all four of their league trips so far, as they currently sit one point adrift of toppers Juventus. Notably, all of those successes have seen the Nerazzurri net at least two goals per SA away fixture, although they’ve struggled to keep a clean sheet three times in the process. Furthermore, the Milanese giants have managed to break the deadlock in each of those road trips, leading at the break on three of those occasions. Such a convincing away record is likely to improve here, as Inter have won three of their six top-flight visits to Brescia since the turn of the new millennium (W3, D2, L1).
