Brazil vs Qatar 06/06/19
6 June 2019
Brazil and Qatar will face-off at the Estádio Nacional de Brasília in Brasilia for an international friendly challenge that sees the two sides warming up for the upcoming Copa America.
The South American giants have been going from strength to strength ever since the World Cup exit. ‘Seleção’ have secured seven wins in eight post-World Cup matches (W7, D1), beating their opponents to nil six times in the process. But, Tite’s men have looked sluggish in the final third over the past nine months, scoring under 1.5 match goals in four of their last five outings. Maybe it’s time that this team generates some excitement on the offensive end, especially as they’ve outplayed the Czech Republic 3-1 in their last game back in March.
After winning the Asian Cup with a perfect record of seven triumphs and zero failures, the Middle Eastern nation will feature the upcoming Copa America, as they are going to face Paraguay, Colombia, and Argentina in their respective group. It will be Qatar’s first H2H meeting with a South American nation following a 4-3 victory over Ecuador in October 2018. The visitors are enjoying a purple patch of form, having racked up a seven-game winning streak in the build-up to this fixture. Notably, six of their wins in that period have been accompanied by a clean sheet, with the Maroons netting 2+ match goals on five occasions during the run.
