Brazil vs Honduras 10/06/19

10 June 2019

Brazil’s preparations for the upcoming Copa America conclude this weekend as they take on Honduras at the Estádio José Pinheiro Borda in Porto Alegre.

Unbeaten in their last nine games (W8, D1), the hosts go into this meeting off the back of a comfortable 2-0 win over Qatar. It was the seventh time that Brazil outplayed their rivals to nil following their disappointing World Cup elimination to Belgium. Still, Brazil’s attacking output has been restricted to just nine goals in their previous six outings, with Tite’s men netting precisely one goal per match on four occasions in the process. Even without their standout performer, Neymar, Selecao are favorites to win here, as they look to post their fourth straight triumph over Honduras in H2Hs.

The visitors have, meanwhile, failed to find the net in all three of their previous H2H meetings with Brazil and considering their recent attacking displays, it will hardly change now. Unprolific when in front of the rival’s goal, Los Catrachos have struggled to score in five of their nine previous outings, bagging precisely one goal per match in the remaining four. The fact that his players have kept just three clean sheets in the same period can’t encourage Fabián Coito either, although they’ve allowed over 1.5 match goals three times in the process.
