Brazil vs Colombia 07/09/19
7 September 2019
Brazil come face-to-face with Colombia at Hard Rock Stadium for an international friendly fixture that will be their first H2H clash since 2017.
The reigning Copa America (CA) champions have been going from strength to strength since returning from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, racking up a remarkable 16-game unbeaten run (W13, D3). Eleven of those triumphs have been accompanied by a clean sheet while nine saw Brazil score over 1.5 match goals. Tite’s men won the 2019 CA conceding just one goal – in a 3-1 win over Peru in the final while netting 2+ match goals in four of six games in the competition. What’s more, the Selecao came out on top twice in the last three H2H meetings with Colombia (W2, D1), with both of their previous H2Hs featuring under 2.5 goals.
Meanwhile, the Colombians went past the CA group stage with all three wins and a +4 goal difference (S4, C0), but they failed to edge past Chile in the first knockout round, losing after a penalty shootout. As a result, they are unbeaten within 90 minutes in their last six outings (W5, D1). While all of those games saw them keep a clean sheet, half of them (3) witnessed Los Cafeteros score two or more goals. As a matter of fact, Colombia lost just one of 12 post-World Cup matches, within 90 minutes (W9, D2, L1), with six of those games featuring under 2.5 goals.
