Borussia Monchengladbach vs Eintracht Frankfurt

As the battle for European spots in the Bundesliga heats up, Borussia Monchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt lock horns in a high-stakes match at Borussia-Park.

Borussia Monchengladbach’s revival after finishing just a point off the relegation playoff spot last season has been remarkable. Gerardo Seoane’s side snatched a late 2-1 win at Stuttgart a week ago to close the gap on fourth-placed RB Leipzig to only three points pre-round. Back-to-back league victories for the first time in four seasons make for good reading as ‘Die Fohlen’ return to Borussia-Park, where they’ve claimed 63% of their Bundesliga points this season (19/30). Furthermore, the hosts have racked up an eye-catching six wins from their last eight home league outings (D1, L1), netting 3+ goals on four occasions! However, you’d need to go back to April 2021 for Gladbach’s last win against Frankfurt in any competition.

In the meantime, after a four-game winning streak to start the new calendar year, Eintracht Frankfurt’s form has fallen off a cliff, with the visitors taking this trip winless in three (D2, L1). Both draws came in the Bundesliga, extending the visitors’ unbeaten league run to five matches (W3, D2) as they boast a six-point lead on fifth-placed Stuttgart. Chances are they’re going to add to that tally. Indeed, Dino Toppmoller’s charges haven’t lost any of their last eight clashes against Gladbach (W5, D3), including a 2-0 win in this season’s reverse fixture. Furthermore, yet to lose a Bundesliga outing in 2025, ‘Die Adler’ look set for their first top-three finish in Germany’s top flight since 1992/93.
