Borussia Dortmund vs Wolfsburg 02/11/19
2 November 2019
Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg go head-to-head at the Signal Iduna Park as the home side look to extend their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga (BL) H2Hs to nine games (W7, D1).
The hosts are not enjoying the best of times having played out four draws in their last five BL outings (W1). Three of those stalemates have ended with the identical 2-2 scoreline, with the BVB blowing a goal lead beyond the 88th minute twice along the way. Still, Lucien Favre’s men have been unstoppable at home this season (W3, D1), scoring 12 goals while conceding just three in the process. The home fans can rely on Dortmund’s impressive recent home H2H record against Wolfsburg (W3, D1). Last season’s BL runners-up have not only kept a clean sheet in their previous three such fixtures, but they have scored 2+ match goals on three of those occasions.
Meanwhile, after a 6-1 home thumping to RB Leipzig in midweek’s DFB Pokal clash, the visitors will be looking to bounce back and maintain their unbeaten start to the BL season (W4, D5). Notably, three of their BL triumphs have seen them beat their rivals to nil, with two coming via the same 1-0 scoreline. However, the Wolves are winless in their last five matches in all competitions (D4, L1), scoring one goal or less in four. Curiously, four of Wolfsburg’s five BL draws this term have ended with the identical 1-1 scoreline, with Oliver Glasner’s men conceding the opener in each of those games.
