Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt 15/02/20
15 February 2020
Borussia Dortmund will look to extend their six-game unbeaten Bundesliga (BL) run against Eintracht Frankfurt (W3, D3) when the two sides lock horns at the Signal Iduna Park this week.
The hosts have won three of four league outings since the turn of the year (L1), with each of those matches featuring over 4.5 goals and seeing Dortmund score three or more. No team has scored more BL goals than the BVB (59) so far this season, with 61.02% (36) of them arriving at home. The Signal Iduna Park has been something of a fortress this campaign, given that Dortmund have not lost a single BL home fixture thus far (W7, D3), winning three of the last four such matches. Notably, five of Dortmund’s seven league home triumphs have yielded a winning margin of four goals or more, with five seeing Lucien Favre’s men keep a clean sheet, too.
Resurgent Frankfurt have picked up three wins in four BL games in the new calendar year (D1). That’s a notable upturn in results, considering they had lost six of seven league games prior (D1), conceding over 1.5 goals in five of those fixtures. The visitors’ dismal form in their past seven BL road trips (W1, D1, L5) is a big reason for concern among the traveling fans, as their side go to take on a team they’ve lost to in all eight of their previous top-flight away H2Hs. Frustratingly for ‘Die Adler,’ they’ve shipped over 2.5 goals in seven of those eight H2Hs, scoring over 1.5 only once. Also, allowing the opening goal could prove fatal for Adi Hutter’s side here, as they’ve returned just one point from seven BL away games in which they conceded first.
