Bologna and Napoli will lock horns at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara this midweek in what could be a high-scoring Serie A affair. Indeed, each of their last four top-flight H2Hs has seen over 3.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet.

The hosts have endured mixed fortunes in six Serie A games post restart (W2, D2, L2), with each of those four results (win/loss) seeing the winner on the day score precisely two goals. Yet, the ‘Greyhounds’ have failed to pick up a win in their last five league home fixtures (D2, L3), scoring under 1.5 goals in each. But, Bologna will be confident of scoring here, as they’ve netted two goals or more in three of five of their previous top-flight H2Hs held at this venue (W2, D1, L2). Bologna’s hopes of wrapping up three points will, however, depend on whether or not they can find the opening goal. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side won just one of nine Serie A home matches in which they’ve shipped the opener (D3, L5).

On the other hand, despite keeping a clean sheet just once in six Serie A fixtures since the resumption of football in June, the visitors have secured four triumphs (D1, L1), as they harbor a two-point lead over seventh-placed AC Milan ahead of the kick-off. None of Napoli’s last eight league trips has produced a draw (W6, L2), with five of those results yielding a narrow one-goal margin. Another tight contest is on the cards, as all three of their previous top-flight H2Hs saw the winner on the day prevail by a single-goal margin. Even if they concede the opener as they did in eight Serie A trips so far, Napoli may still walk away unbeaten. Gennaro Gattuso’s team lost four applicable matches (W3, D1).
