Bologna vs Juventus 23/06/20

23 June 2020

Juventus will look to post their eighth consecutive Serie A (SA) triumph over Bologna when the two sides meet at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara this week.

Bologna’s form curve ahead of the coronavirus pandemic had tumbled downwards, as the hosts failed to pick up a win in three consecutive SA games (D1, L2) after racking up three successive triumphs prior. Curiously, each of their five results (win/loss) during that six-game sequence saw the winner on the day score at least once in the first half and over 1.5 goals in total. Even though they’ve failed to find the net in five of their last six top-flight home H2Hs, the Greyhounds are likely to get on the scoresheet here, given that they’ve drawn a blank only once in 13 SA home matches this season.

On the other hand, the visitors had secured three straight league victories before the pandemic halted the club season in Italy, scoring precisely two goals per match in each while keeping a clean sheet in two. But, the reigning SA champions have endured mixed fortunes in their last five SA road trips (W3, L2), with each of those results yielding the identical 2-1 scoreline. Even if they concede the opening goal here, as they did in just 23.08% of 13 SA away games this season, Juventus may walk away with three points. Indeed, the Turin giants managed to turn around two of three SA away matches in which they’ve shipped the opener (L1).
