Bologna vs Juventus 13/01/19

13 January 2019

Juventus go in search of their sixth consecutive win against Bologna as the two sides face-off at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in the Coppa Italia round of 16.

It will be a daunting prospect for Bologna to pick up a victory against Juventus, considering their last win against the Turin giants dates back to 2012. Moreover, Bologna’s last home triumph against the Bianconeri took place almost 21 years ago, as they still try to secure their elusive first home victory against the reigning Serie A holders in the 21st century. The Rossoblu’s task could be even more complicated looking at their recent outputs. Filippo Inzaghi’s men are winless in the five matches (D2, L3), having secured just one triumph in the previous 13 competitive outings. The Greyhounds’ main issue relates to their uninspiring attacking displays that have seen them failing to hit the back of the net three times in the last four encounters. Additionally, only two teams have scored fewer goals than Bologna in the Italian top flight this season.

Meanwhile, unbeaten in their last four competitive games (W3, D1), the Old Lady now look to extend an outstanding 17-game unbeaten run at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara (W12, D5). No team in Italy has achieved more victories on the road than Juventus (10) this season, with only Young Boys and Atalanta managing to avoid defeat against the current Serie A holders. What’s more, Massimiliano Allegri’s players have scored over 1.5 goals in nine out of 12 road encounters in all competitions, which is by far the best record in the Italian top flight. Also, the Bianconeri have kept a clean sheet three times on their last five road trips, conceding under 1.5 goals per match on the road just twice this season.
