Bologna vs AC Milan 19/12/18
19 December 2018
Bologna and AC Milan will face-off at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara as both sides desperately need a positive outcome to overcome a difficult period.
Winless in their last eight Serie A games, the hosts currently reside in the relegation zone with eight losses and just two wins after the opening 15 league fixtures. Although they’ve lost just one out of their last five home matches, the Rossoblu failed to wrap up all three points in the previous three encounters in front of the local crowd, being held to two draws while losing once in the run. Bologna’s principal problem this season relates to their uninspiring performance in the final third, which has seen Filippo Inzaghi’s players scoring an average of 0.87 goals per match, which is the third weakest goalscoring record in the Italian top flight. However, the Greyhounds have scored two goals per game in two of their past four home meetings, failing to hit the back of the net only once in the process.
Devastated by the Europa League group stage elimination, the Rossoneri now head to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara hoping to claim their fourth consecutive road triumph against the struggling home side. Another drop-off in form has seen Gennaro Gattuso’s men securing just one win in their previous four Serie A outings. What’s more, the 7-time CL winners have failed to get all three points on their last three road trips across all competitions. Although Milan won two league matches away from home this term, their road performance could be a major influence here. Gianluigi Donnarumma has struggled to keep a clean sheet in six out of seven road clashes, conceding exactly one goal five times in the process.
