Bayern Munich’s pursuit of their seventh successive Bundesliga title continues this weekend as they welcome dead-last Hannover 96 to the Allianz Arena.

Sitting two points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, the reigning holders have yet to defend the title, with three Bundesliga fixtures left to play. Although unbeaten in the BL in the last 11 outings (W9, D2), the hosts go into this meeting off the back of a frustrating 1-1 away draw with Nurnberg. Nonetheless, the Bavarians have racked up an impressive nine-game BL home winning run, with seven of those wins saw them beating their rivals to nil. Only one team has shipped fewer goals at home than Bayern (12) this term, with the Reds conceding over 1.5 match goals just twice in 15 BL home clashes so far. Additionally, Niko Kovac’s men have netted 3+ match goals in four of their last six BL home games, as they remain the BL’s second-best attacking home side (41).

Meanwhile, the visitors are on the verge of joining the 2. Bundesliga, as they reside 12 below 15th-placed Schalke 04 and won’t be able to close the gap before the end of the season. In spite of that, Thomas Doll’s players have collected four points from their last two BL games, which is more than they’ve managed for the preceding 12 BL fixtures (W1, L11). However, Hannover remain one of two German teams that have yet to pick up a victory away from home this term (D5, L10). What’s more, the Reds’ tally of 40 goals conceded on the road is the league’s joint-worst, with Doll’s men allowing over 1.5 match goals on 11 of 15 BL road trips so far. Another major setback for the traveling side is that they’ve lost all four of their previous road H2Hs with the BL’s top-four sides, conceding over 2.5 match goals in each.
