Bayern Munich vs Besiktas 21/02/18

21 February 2018

The undisputed Bundesliga leaders, Bayern Munich, are set to host the Turkish side, Besiktas, at the Allianz Arena after an impressive comeback against Wolfsburg last Saturday. The German giants are big favorites to win this battle, but Black Eagles should not be underestimated, since they’ve been brilliant in the group stages, securing top spot in their group ahead of Porto, RB Leipzig, and Monaco.
The Bavarians have an astonishing home-record, as they don’t have a single loss since the start of the season, and Senol Gunes’ team will have to put maximum efforts to change that. However, they’ll be predominantly focused on keeping a clean sheet, but considering the fact Bayer have scored eighteen goals in their last five home games, it will be far from easy.

Following a 1-1 draw against Konyaspor last weekend, Besiktas’ hopes of defending the title in the national championship have dropped significantly, but they are desperate to demonstrate their worth in Europe’s elite competition.
Jupp Heynckes is still forced to use Sven Ulrich between the posts, as Manuel Neuer’s return to action is postponed by the end of the season. But, the experienced German manager is glad to see Thiago Alcantara and Arturo Vidal fully recovered and ready for the encounter.

On the other hand, Dusko Tosic, Atinc Nukan, and Veli Kavlak are all ruled out due to injuries.
