Bayern Munich vs AC Milan 24/07/19
24 July 2019
Bayern Munich and AC Milan will face-off at the Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City in the International Champions Cup, which will be their third H2H meeting in this tournament for the past four years. Interestingly, the Italians have come off better in both of the previous H2Hs between the sides, with both of those games featuring over 3.5 goals.
The Bavarians go into this clash of titans off the back of a comfortable 3-1 win over La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid, which was their second win in four friendlies this summer (W2, D1, L1). The reigning Bundesliga holders have endured mixed fortunes in the ICC so far, having suffered a 2-1 loss to Arsenal before achieving the aforementioned victory. Still, Bayern’s recent matches have not been short of entertainment, as five of their last six games produced over 2.5 goals, with five of them seeing both teams score too.
Meanwhile, the Serie A giants failed to impress in their first summer friendly, being held to a 1-1 draw to Novara, bringing their four-game winning streak to a halt. Interestingly, three of those Milan’s four triumphs have been settled by a narrow one-goal margin, with the Rossoneri taking the lead before the halftime whistle each time. Modest in the final third but stubborn at the back, the Rossoneri’s recent games have struggled to impress in terms of efficiency, with just three of their last 11 matches producing over 2.5 goals.
