Barcelona vs Leganes 17/06/20
17 June 2020
Current La Liga (LL) table-toppers Barcelona welcome relegation-threatened Leganes (19th) to the Camp Nou, looking to extend their winning run in their competitive H2Hs to four games.
Huge pre-match favorites, the Catalan giants have won each of their four previous competitive home H2Hs, securing at least a two-goal margin in the last three. In turn, the reigning title-holders have a tendency to destroy their rivals when they win at home. A winning margin of three or more goals was recorded in eight of their 13 LL home victories this season. Barcelona’s free-scoring form has seen them net over 1.5 goals in 78.57% (11) of 14 LL home matches and 45 in total, which makes them the most prolific home side in Spain’s top-flight. Stunningly, Quique Setien’s men have netted 26 first-half goals at Camp Nou this term, which betters Leganes’ overall tally (22) for the season.
Meanwhile, a 2-1 home defeat to Valladolid at the weekend now means that all but one of Leganes’ last eight league fixtures ended separating the sides by under 1.5 goals (W2, D3, L3). In turn, Leganes’ combative approach on the road has seen 62.5% (five) of their eight LL away results (win/loss) produce a single-goal margin. But, with just eight goals scored in 13 LL trips, Los Pepineros remain one of just two sides yet to reach double digits away from home this season. Frustratingly slow starters, Javier Aguirre’s players have failed to find the net inside the opening 30 minutes of play in 12 of 13 LL away games.
