Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid 04/03/18

04 March 2018

The Catalan heavyweights, Barcelona, will face in-form Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou in what could be the crucial match of the current La Liga season. With only five points lead over the Madrid side, the Blaugrana are yet to secure the title, and after a miserable 1-1 draw with Las Palmas, they will need to step up their game if they look to defeat Diego Simeone’s warriors. Antoine Griezmann and his companions are hoping to extend their 8-game winning streak. The Mattressers have won their previous six matches in the Spanish championship, in which they have only conceded three goals while scoring sixteen. In the meantime, Barcelona have dropped in form over the last couple of weeks although they notched a 6-1 victory over Girona last weekend.

However, their overall performances are not as convincing as at the start of the season, especially in the attack where everything seems to be dependent on Messi.
Ernesto Valverde’s decision to leave Coutinho on the bench against Las Palmas has proved to be wrong, but the Brazilian will probably start from the first minute alongside Suarez and the Argentine wizard. Nelson Semedo has suffered a hamstring injury, and he will watch the game from the stands. The visitors are expected to arrive in Catalonia without Lucas Hernandez and Stefan Savic, as both players are struggling with thigh problems.
