Atletico Madrid vs Sant Andreu 06/12/18
06 December 2018
After a narrow 1-0 away victory in the first leg of the fourth round of the Copa del Rey, Atletico Madrid will welcome Sant Andreu to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano looking to secure their place in the round of 16.
Unbeaten in their last eight competitive matches, Los Colchoneros seem to have managed to consolidate their ranks following a slow start of the season. But, in the past three games, except for a 2-0 win over Monaco in the Champions League, Los Rojiblancos have played out two draws in La Liga with the identical 1-1 scoreline, including the one against Girona last weekend. Diego Simeone’s men have featured in ten competitive meetings at home this season, having secured eight wins while being held to two draws in the process. Atletico Madrid have maintained the impressive defensive displays from last season, keeping more clean sheets than any other team in the Spanish top tier this term (6).
On the other hand, the visitors, who currently compete in the Spanish Tercera Division – Group 5, are not going through the best of times. The Quadribarrats have lost four out of last six matches in their respective division, failing to hit the back of the net three times during the run. What’s more, the Grocs have struggled to wrap up all three points in their previous seven road trips, having suffered four defeats while being held to three draws in the process. Mikel Azparren’s potential worry will be that his players have failed to score more than one goal per match in nine out of their last ten competitive clashes.
