Atletico Madrid vs Real Betis 07/10/18

07 October 2018

Atletico Madrid are set to host Real Betis at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, looking to extend a 6-game loseless streak in all competitions.

Although Los Colchoneros struggled in the opening four La Liga fixtures, having lost once and drawn twice, it seems Diego Simeone finally found the way to integrate the newcomers into his established system. Before being held to a scoreless draw to Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Los Rojiblancos wrapped up two straight league victories, sweeping Getafe and Huesca aside, without conceding a goal in the process. Meanwhile, their Champions League started couldn’t be any better, as they comfortably top Group A with a maximum of two wins along with the likes of Borussia Dortmund.

On the other hand, Los Verdiblancos are authors of an outstanding season so far, as they are unbeaten in the previous eight encounters in all competitions. The Andalusians have managed to raise following a devastating 3-0 defeat to Levante on the opening matchday, having clinched three wins and played out three draws since. Before a routine 3-0 win over Dudelange in the Europa League, Los Beticos achieved two successive triumphs in La Liga, defeating Girona and Leganes, as they hope to maintain an impressive spell even in the Spanish capital.

El Cholo won’t have Stefan Savic, Jose Maria Gimenez, Diego Costa, and Gelson Martins at his disposal as all are struggling with injuries. As for the visitors, Quique Setien is expected to field his best starting eleven, as all of his players are fit and ready for taking a trip to Madrid.
