Atalanta vs Roma 16/02/20
16 February 2020
Atalanta and Roma go head-to-head at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, with the traveling side looking to leapfrog their hosts in the Serie A (SA) standings.
Fourth-placed Atalanta have won two of their last three SA fixtures (D1), scoring over 1.5 goals in each. However, they’ve failed to pick up a win in their previous two home league matches (D1, L1) even though they’ve opened the scoring in both. Not exactly the fastest home starters, ‘La Dea’ have scored the opening goal in six of 11 SA games held here so far this season (55%), but they’ve managed to return seven points from five in which they’ve allowed the first goal (W2, D1, L2). The Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia has been a venue of entertainment this term, with ten of Atalanta’s 11 league games played here producing over 2.5 goals (91%). In turn, four of their last five home H2Hs with Roma have seen three goals or more and both teams on the scoresheet (W1, D2, L2).
The visitors are having a hard time, losing three of their previous four competitive outings (D1). While all four of those matches saw both teams score, three have witnessed Roma concede the opening goal inside the opening half an hour of play and ship at least one more before halftime. The Giallorossi’s dip in form has seen them go from six consecutive away games in all competitions without a loss (W5, D1) to two straight defeats, with five of those eight games seeing over 3.5 goals and both teams score. It will be vital for Roma to open the scoring here, as they’ve won six of seven SA away games in which they drew first blood (D1).
