Atalanta and Lazio will face off against each other at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia in a potentially high-scoring Serie A contest. Indeed, five of their last seven top-flight H2Hs have seen over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet.

The hosts are on their way of securing a place in the Champions League group stage for the second year running after picking up four consecutive Serie A wins to move six points clear of fifth-placed Roma. Free-scoring Atalanta netted at least two goals in one half in each of those four victories, scoring a total of 15 to take their tally for the season to 74 (the division’s high). In turn, La Dea have bagged over 1.5 goals in six of their last seven Serie A home fixtures, finding the opening goal on five of those occasions. Also, 53.85% of Atalanta’s league games at this venue have seen at least one goal (scored/conceded) arrive in the final 15 minutes of play (7/13).

Meanwhile, the visitors have been a force to be reckoned with this term as they headed into the coronavirus break on a run of 21 Serie A games without a loss (W17, D4). Impressively, all but two of their 17 wins during that streak saw Lazio score over 1.5 goals per match, although 11 of those successes witnessed the ‘Biancocelesti’ concede at least once. Curiously, though, seven of Lazio’s eight Serie A away wins this campaign yielded a single-goal margin, with five of them producing the identical 2-1 scoreline. Simone Inzaghi will be desperate to see his side improve their first-half performances, given that the majority (69.23%) of Lazio’s league away goals conceded came before the break (9/13).
