Atalanta vs Juventus 23/11/19
23 November 2019
Atalanta and Juventus go head-to-head at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, with the traveling side looking to maintain an unbeaten start to their Serie A (SA) season.
The hosts are not enjoying the best of times, having failed to pick up a win in all three of their previous league outings (D2, L1). Unusually for Atalanta, they’ve also drawn a blank in both of their last SA matches, but they, nonetheless, remain league’s best attacking side with 30 goals scored so far. Curiously, La Dea have experienced more problems on home turf than away from home, registering just seven of their total 22 SA points at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia (31%). Such a disappointing home form will hardly help Gian Piero Gasperini’s men to secure their elusive first SA home triumph against Juventus since 2001 (D4, L10). Interestingly though, all three of their previous SA H2Hs at this venue have ended with the identical 2-2 scoreline.
After a shock 1-1 away draw, the visitors have racked up a three-game SA winning streak, with two of their last triumphs coming via the same 1-0 scoreline. The reigning holders headed to the international break as the league toppers and the only unbeaten side in SA after the opening 12 rounds of fixtures (W10, D2). Unsurprisingly, both of those stalemates have come away from home and witnessed the same 0-0 halftime scoreline. For Juventus, goals have been in short supply on the road this term, as they’ve netted just seven goals in six SA road trips so far, scoring over 1.5 match goals only twice. Also, all four of their league away victories have been hard-fought and came via a single-goal margin.
