Atalanta and Bologna go head-to-head at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia in what promises to be a high-scoring Serie A affair. Indeed, all three of their previous top-flight H2Hs have seen over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet.

The hosts have been impressive since the resumption of football in June (W7, D2), scoring over 1.5 goals in seven of nine Serie A games post restart and managing a total of 25. Indeed, rampant Atalanta have netted a league-high 94 Serie A goals this season, bagging an average of 2.76 goals per league game. Additionally, ‘La Dea’ remain the only side in Italy’s top-tier to smash a 50-goal barrier at home after scoring two goals or more in 14 of 17 Serie A home fixtures this term (82.35%). Gian Piero Gasperini’s men seem more than likely to maintain their free-scoring form now, as they take on a side they’ve outplayed in five consecutive top-flight H2Hs held at this stadium, notching an average of 2.4 goals across those clashes.

Meanwhile, the visitors head to Bergamo on the back of a 5-1 away defeat to AC Milan that gave them a fourth successive Serie A game without a win (D2, L2). Bologna will face an uphill task of keeping a clean sheet here, as they’ve shipped at least one goal in all but one of their 17 league trips this term, lamenting an average of 1.87 goals conceded per Serie A away match. Also, a lack of concentration before the break has seen just two sides concede more away first-half goals than Bologna (16) this campaign. Yet, the ‘Greyhounds’ must believe they can make it to the scoresheet here, after netting over 1.5 goals in five of their last seven Serie A trips.
