AS Roma vs Parma 27/05/19

27 May 2019

Unbeaten in their last eight Serie A outings (W4, D4), AS Roma welcome Parma to the Stadio Olimpico looking to stretch their unbeaten run in H2Hs to seven games (W5, D1).

Even though Roma’s last league win dates back to March, the hosts are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League as they trail fourth-placed Inter Milan by three points ahead of the final round of SA fixtures. Notably, though, the Giallorossi have won all three of their previous SA games, beating their opponents to nil each time. Far more comfortable at home, Roma have collected 60.32% of their total SA points here (38 of 63), with 11 of their 17 league wins coming at this venue. Still, La Lupa’s recent league matches have been short of entertainment, with six of their last seven SA games featuring under 2.5 goals while just two of them saw both teams score.

Meanwhile, the visitors have preserved their top-flight status in the first season since joining Serie A thanks to a narrow 1-0 home win over Fiorentina last time out. A victory over Viola was Parma’s first league triumph since early March, with the Crusaders enduring a rough ride of nine SA games without a win in that span (D5, L4). Just like Roma, Roberto D’Aversa’s men have struggled to entertain their fans lately, with five of their last seven SA matches producing under 2.5 goals. Parma’s main worry ahead of this clash could be that they’ve failed to wrap up three points on their last eight SA road trips (D4, L4), conceding 2+ match goals six times in the process.
