Arsenal vs Vitoria Guimaraes 25/10/19

25 October 2019

The UEFA Europa League (EL) Group F leaders Arsenal take on Vitoria Guimaraes at the Emirates Stadium looking to maintain a perfect start to their European campaign.

The hosts are setting the pace in this section, winning both of their opening two matches by scoring 3+ match goals apiece and keeping clean sheets. What’s more, the Gunners have won all four halves of the EL football played so far. Unai Emery’s men are not only undefeated in their last nine EL group stage matches (W8, D1), but they have kept a blank sheet in all but one of those fixtures. Additionally, the Premier League giants have won six consecutive EL home games following a goalless draw with the Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon, scoring 2+ match goals in five.

The visitors have, on the other hand, started their Group F campaign with a whimper rather than a bang, losing both of their first two group fixtures ‘to nil.’ It will be a daunting prospect for Vitoria to post their elusive first away victory in the EL Group stage (D2, L7), as they’ve struggled to pick up a single point from their last four such fixtures. Also, Vitoria’s dismal away record in all competitions this term can’t encourage the traveling fans (W1, D3, L2), especially as ‘Os Vimaranenses’ scored one goal or less in five of these road trips.
