06 April 2018
After a 3-0 victory over Stoke City last weekend, Arsenal will host the Russian giants, CSKA Moscow, at the Emirates Stadium looking for a win, as capturing the Europa League title could be the only thing that can save Arsene Wenger’s job considering the Gunners’ are experiencing another disappointing Premier League campaign. The North London side have already lost any hope of closing the gap on Tottenham, who are currently fourth-placed and have a 13-point lead over their city rivals. Thanks to a tough 2-1 win against FC Rostov on the road, CSKA have managed to keep up the pace with Spartak and Lokomotiv in the title race, but the Horses are eager to demonstrate their quality on the European scene. Viktor Goncharenko’s team has eliminated Red Star Belgrade in last round thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory in Moscow, and they will have to be a lot better if they look to beat Arsenal who had no troubles whatsoever against AC Milan whom they beat in both games, 5-1 in aggregate.
