Arsenal vs Chelsea

Emirates Stadium forms the backdrop for an all-London Premier League showdown between Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal’s hopes of ending a two-decade title drought in the Premier League are dead in the water following an underwhelming three-game winless league run (D2, L1). As a result, pacesetters Liverpool have gone 15 points up, effectively decreasing the effect of the Gunners’ game in hand. On the bright side, Mikel Arteta’s men have reached the Champions League quarter-finals after a 9-3 aggregate win against PSV Eindhoven, setting up a mouth-watering tie against Real Madrid in April. Chelsea’s visit could help Arsenal turn the corner in the Premier League, considering they’re unbeaten across their last six top-flight H2Hs (W4, D2). However, it’s worth noting that November’s reverse fixture ended 1-1.

Fresh off a narrow 1-0 home win against Copenhagen, which saw them advance into the Europa Conference League quarter-finals as 3-1 aggregate winners, Chelsea return to the Premier League, seeking a fifth consecutive victory in all competitions. Enzo Maresca’s men have won back-to-back league outings after losing twice in a row beforehand and could steer four points clear of fifth-placed Manchester City with a win in North London. However, the Blues have lost their last two league visits to Arsenal by a combined score of 8-1, conceding 3+ goals on both occasions. Another defeat would condemn Chelsea to four consecutive away league losses for the first time since December 2023.
