Argentina vs Uruguay 19/11/19
19 November 2019
Argentina and Uruguay go head-to-head in an international friendly match at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv.
Encouraged by a 1-0 triumph over arch-rivals Brazil a few days ago, the Argentineans will now look to stretch their unbeaten run to seven games (W4, D2). Since finishing third in the 2019 Copa America, La Albiceleste have kept a clean sheet in three of five international friendlies, netting 2+ match goals on three occasions too. Argentina might as well keep a clean sheet here, given that they’ve shut out Uruguay in five of their last six H2H meetings (W4, D1, L1). But, they did have problems scoring across those clashes too, bagging one goal or less in four of those matches, including the last three.
Meanwhile, Oscar Tabarez’s men have also avoided defeat since exiting the Copa America, winning three of five post-tournament friendlies, although failed to put two wins together in that period (W3, D2). While both of their draws in that sequence ended with the identical 1-1 scoreline, all of those three victories have come via a single-goal margin, with Uruguay taking a one-goal lead into halftime in each. Scoring more than once per match has been a problem for Uruguay recently, as they’ve done it only three times in their last seven outings. What’s more, they’ve netted over 1.5 match goals in just one of their previous eight H2Hs with Argentina, drawing a blank in three of their last meetings.
