AC Milan vs Torino 29/01/20
29 January 2020
AC Milan welcome Torino to the Stadio San Siro this midweek for their Coppa Italia quarter-final showdown.
The hosts have kept a clean sheet in four of five competitive games since the turn of the year, picking up four wins along the way (D1). Interestingly, the Rossoneri have found the net beyond the hour mark in their last four outings, drawing a blank in the first half on three of those occasions. Also, Stefano Pioli’s men have avoided defeat in their past five home fixtures (W2, D3), scoring precisely three goals apiece in both of their successes in that period. Encouraged by a recent upturn in results, they will now be looking to halt a dismal six-game winless run in competitive H2Hs with Torino (D4, L2). Milan have not lost to Torino in a competitive home matchup since September 2000, clinching eight wins in 13 such H2Hs since (D5).
As for the visitors, they suffered a disastrous 7-0 home defeat to Atalanta in the build-up to this trip, which was their second successive failure following a 2-1 away loss to Sassuolo. But, before that reverse, the Maroons had put together four straight away games without a defeat (W3, D1), with each of their three triumphs during that run seeing them shut out their opponents. In fact, six of Torino’s last eight away results (win/loss) have seen the winners on the day keep a clean sheet, with three of them yielding the exact 1-0 scoreline. Frustratingly for the traveling side, they’ve returned just four points from their last three road trips even though they were leading at the break in each (W1, D1, L1).
