AC Milan vs Roma 28/06/20
28 June 2020
AC Milan and Roma go head-to-head at the Stadio San Siro for a massive Serie A showdown this weekend, as the home side look to put an end to a two-game winless streak in their top-flight H2Hs (D1, L1).
Milan have endured mixed fortunes in their last five Serie A fixtures (W2, D1, L2), with three of them seeing over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. At home in Serie A, the ‘Rossoneri’ have lost only once in their seven previous matches (W2, D4), even though they scored under 1.5 goals in six of those encounters. Stefano Pioli’s men need to inject more pace into their slow starts, given that they’ve managed to find the net inside the opening 15 minutes of play in just one of 13 league home games this season while conceding in four during the same timeframe. The hosts can’t rely on their recent top-flight home H2H record either since they’ve suffered three defeats in their last four such clashes (W1).
As for the visitors, a 2-1 comeback home success against Sampdoria last time out brought their winning league run to three games, but they continue to trail fourth-placed Atalanta by six points. Interestingly, all three of Roma’s previous Serie A victories saw them score precisely twice beyond the hour mark. In turn, 56.1% of the visitors’ Serie A away goals (scored/conceded) so far this season came after the break (23/41). Also, all five of Roma’s past league road trips (W3, L2) have witnessed over 2.5 goals and both teams score, with the last two seeing the winner on the day come from behind the seal three points.
