AC Milan vs Juventus 14/02/20
14 February 2020
AC Milan will welcome Juventus to the Stadio San Siro for the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-finals tie.
The hosts suffered their first defeat in 2020 last weekend, letting a two-goal halftime lead slip through their fingers in the second half to succumb 4-2 to Inter Milan. Before that, the Rossoneri had put together seven consecutive matches without a loss (W4, D3), keeping a clean sheet in four of those seven clashes. Also, Stefano Pioli’s men have hit a free-scoring form lately, as they’ve found the net in seven consecutive games in all competitions, scoring over 1.5 goals in five. Yet, although Milan have avoided defeat in their last seven home fixtures, they’ve picked up only two wins during that seven-match sequence (D5), with 57.14% (four) of those games featuring under 2.5 goals. But, extending their home form will require Milan to snap Juve’s two-game winning streak at this venue, which will not be easy given that they brew a blank in both of those H2Hs.
As for the visitors, they’ve lost two of their previous three competitive outings (W1) and go into this encounter on the back of a dismal 2-1 away loss to Hellas Verona. Still, Juventus’ recent fixtures have overseen a lot of action, with each of their last 11 games in all competitions producing over 2.5 goals. Interestingly, none of those 11 matches has ended in a draw (W8, L3), with eight seeing the winner on the day ship precisely one goal. In turn, none of Juventus’ past nine road trips has seen a stalemate (W6, L3). Importantly, six of those results (win/loss) in that period have yielded a single-goal margin, with five witnessing the identical 2-1 scoreline.
