AC Milan vs Genoa 01/11/18

1 November 2018

AC Milan will host Genoa at the Stadio San Siro following a tight 3-2 victory over Sampdoria last weekend.

The encounter between the two sides was previously postponed because of a horrible tragedy in Genoa.

The Rossoneri are not going through the best of times, as they currently trail the Champions League promotion zone by four points, having already suffered two defeats in Serie A, while being held to three draws in the process. Gennaro Gattuso’s principal problem relates to his team’s defensive performance, considering Milan are the only side in the Italian top flight that failed to keep a clean sheet in all nine league matches. Meanwhile, apart from a narrow 1-0 defeat to city rivals Inter Milan, the 7-time Champions League winners have bagged at least one goal per match, scoring a brace six times so far.

On the other hand, led by the current Serie A top goalscorer Krzysztof Piatek, the Griffin reside in the 11th place, with a record of four wins, two draws, and three defeats. Along with Juventus, the Red and Blues are the only team in Italy that scored a goal in each competitive match so far. However, Ivan Juric’s problem concerns his side’s poor defensive displays, considering they’ve only kept a clean sheet twice, having already conceded eleven goals on the road, which is the third-worst defensive record in the Italian top flight. A 67% of Genoa’s games this season have ended with three or more goals, which puts them in rank with their forthcoming opponents.

Provisional line-up – Genoa:
